Most valuable public market sports teams

Let's get into it!

EA Sports… It's OUT The Game!

The biggest football game out there is about to change forever.

Yep, the game we all grew up playing will never be the same. This is the end of FIFA as we know it…

Whether you’re old or young, everyone has a favourite FIFA. Sadly, it seems that nearly none of those are the more recent editions of the game.

In other terms:

With that, for many, it could be time for change – and that is exactly what’s happening.

As was announced last May, the FIFA franchise will not be developed by EA in the future. Having sent shockwaves through the entire gaming community, FIFA President Gianni Infantino promised that “the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans.”

A big claim which, after this week, has been followed by an even bigger announcement. That’s right, FIFA is releasing a completely new game. And guess what it’s about…

AI, of course! You literally cannot make this up.

Developed by Altered State Machine, AI League will be a big change from what FIFA fans have come to expect. This is how:

  • Firstly, the game will only be available to play on mobiles and not consoles

  • The game will not be simulation-based, but rather take a ‘four vs four’ style of play

  • Characters will be controlled by AI, while players act as managers, creating tactics and stepping in when required

With this being the first of its kind, be prepared to see more innovations using AI and the Metaverse…

Making Life More Simple

Let’s not beat around the bush. What’s the worst thing about going to watch live Sport? Queues. Long, boring, tedious lines.

So, with that - let’s talk about the AFL…

Being the biggest Sport in Australia, Footy is home to some of the biggest stadiums in the world.

From 50,000 seat wonders to 100,000 seat spectacles, Sport is a big thing down under. Well, things are changing – and for the better.

How? AI and Machine Learning…

This is cool… REALLY cool.

Yep, this week Amazon announced the opening of a ‘Just Walk Out’ store in the Marvel Stadium. Here’s how it works:

  • The system provides a check-out free shopping experience

  • To use it, fans will have to scan their payment cards before leaving the store without having to wait in any queues

  • Two in-stadium stores will be introduced during the 2023 season

To get a better idea, you can watch this video… Bonkers!

But really, the introduction of these stores can vastly improve fan experience. In not having to wait ages to get food or drink, fans will be allowed to watch more of the game and generally have a far nicer in-game experience.

“We are continually looking at new ways to innovate and modernise our fan experience, and we know everyone will love the fast, convenient experience that Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology will deliver… Ultimately, this is about the fans, bringing them a next-generation stadium experience so they can spend more time enjoying the footy.”

Time to Get Fit

Everyone has the capacity to be great - and tech giant Samsung thinks so too…

Using the newly released Galaxy Watches 4 and 5, users will be able to access their individual exercise statistics. This is how:

Striking a partnership with work-out equipment manufacturer Peloton, Samsung will integrate a new app into their wearable technology.

Using this, fans will be able to connect directly to their Peloton equipment (Treadmills, Bikes, Row Machines, etc.) and resultantly see data such as heart rate and more.

“At Samsung, we believe technology should help us lead happier and healthier lives. That’s a value we share with Peloton,” said Janet Lee, SVP of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics America. This partnership embodies our mutual commitment to providing a truly personalised fitness experience for consumers. These new capabilities give users a more detailed picture of their progress, helping them achieve their fitness goals.”

We Need to Talk About: Chelsea (again)

Today’s newsletter has been all about change. But sometimes, change just does not work.

So, for what feels like the 1000th time in the last two months, we need to talk about Chelsea again.

Bringing their total to over £50 million, Chelsea have officially spent more on managerial changes in 9 months than Manchester City paid for Erling Haaland. Oof, someone make it make sense.

After the car crash which was Graham Potter’s tenure at the Blues’ helm, Football fans expected a serious response from Todd Boehly and the Chelsea board.

With names like Pochettino, Enrique, and Nagelsmann being touted, no one could have expected what was next…

While that may seem like a joke, Chelsea have actually reinstated Frank Lampard as gaffer until at least the end of the season.

So Chelsea fans, listen to your manager. It may be time to…
