Let's get into it!
The Cowboys of The Future…
If the last couple months have taught us anything, it’s that as new doors continue to open in the technological realm, changes are bound to follow.
With that, let’s not beat around the bush. No matter where, what, or how, there’s been one particular form that has absolutely dominated the sports scene recently – AI.
Shocker, right? 😂😂😂
Being the case, to bring in the new week, we thought there’s no better place to start than with a new sport…
Professional Bull Riding, welcome to The Sports Road!
If you aren’t familiar with the sport, just look at this… Let’s just say it is NOT for the faint hearted 😅
So why are we talking about it, you ask? Well, Professional Bull Riders (PBR) – the biggest international Bull Riding league in the world – have just announced their newest AI…
While your minds may have already floated to ideas of mechanical bull riding, we’ll help you out – it’s not that.
Rather, the company has internally developed ‘Skystart’ – an AI powered camera equipped with the ability to do MUCH more than you may think…
Acting in a similar fashion to other technologies recently introduced, Skystart aims to aid in refereeing decisions and ensure the game remains as fair and precise as possible
Using advanced vision recognition from a camera, the AI can capture the exact moment different plays occur and respond accordingly whether it be through timing or replaying processes.
The technology will make its first appearance this weekend, where it will be used to automatically calculate times between the start and ending point of a rider's hold on a rope.
Sport is changing forever and you do NOT want to miss out…

A HUGE Partnership!
Tempus Ex Machina. Remember the name?
Having partnered with some of sports biggest names, the technology firm is looking to seriously change the way fans, staff, and players all interact with our favourite games.
I mean seriously… From the NFL, to Pac-12, Chelsea, and more, the company has not stopped!
Whether it be the creation of new personalised broadcasting tech or that of injury detection, Tempus Ex have displayed a wide variety of interesting and beneficial offerings in the sports industry.
So, what now?
Well, all that brings us to today. In a deal struck earlier this week, the company acquired Biocore – a biomechanical engineering company with strong links to sport.
Providing the appropriate technological infrastructure to support Biocore’s understanding of human performance, the partnership could mean BIG things for the future of athlete safety…
When further pairing that with Tempus Ex’s knowledge of data and graphical modelling, everyone involved in the industry should be able to respond and act to multiple different situations.
“Our goal has always been to bring together the best minds to build the best technology. Biocore is a leader in performance, health and safety and is at the forefront of computer vision, AI and machine learning. We see this merger as a way to future-proof our infrastructure platform and provide tools and technology that can benefit every league, team and athlete.”
Times Are Changing
We have a question…
Declan Rice, Lionel Messi, Raphaël Varane, Kevin Durant, The MLS, and more. What do all of these sporting greats – and the MLS 😅 – have in common?
That’s right. They all are avid users of ScorePlay – a Lisbon-based sports tech startup dedicated to improving online experiences for large sports organisations.
Powered by AI, the product aims to make media management easier. Acting as an all-in-one centralised media hub, ScorePlay’s platform has allowed multiple clubs and leagues the opportunity to automate their workflow.
Last year, the company received just over $1 million. Using the investment to expand their spheres of influence, it looks like ScorePlay may be the next big thing…
With the company’s revenue growing 1000% in 2022 alone, big investment was to be expected this year – and that’s exactly what they got…
Led by Alexis Ohenian’s Seven Seven Six, this week ScorePlay raised over $5 million!
Planning to use the money in growing the team and expanding their reach, ScorePlay could become a fix in mainstream sport VERY soon…
“Sports teams have seen a meteoric rise over the past 20 years, but their media infrastructures just haven’t been able to keep up – they’re still using Google Drive, Dropbox and WhatsApp. We saw that gap grow so we went directly to the end-user and co-constructed a tech solution made for the sports industry. ScorePlay is built by and for sports organisations, which is one of the main reasons it has been hugely successful.”
We Need to Talk About: Boxing…
Prized fighting — there really is nothing quite like it; especially in this form…
With crossover Boxing taking over the combat sports scene recently, I guess the only thing to say is expect the unexpected.
From tag team, to survivor matches, this weekend saw another chapter in the storied book.
In the fight — which saw social media sensation Jake Paul fight against UFC veteran Nate Diaz — the duo brought out all the stops…
While the fight didn’t end in the show stopping knockout many expected, it wasn’t without its — how should we put this — drama 😅😅😅
Winning across 10 rounds, Paul brought his professional Boxing record to 7-1. Despite that, in the eyes of many, seeing Diaz was the real treat…

I mean from submission and takedown attempts, to gloating, and a show of old school Diaz cardio, fans definitely got their moneys worth.
"I had the single leg in the first and the guillotine in the 10th…. I already won that battle.”
With Paul stating his desire to have the rematch in MMA, don’t be surprised if this isn’t the last you hear from them…
I still cannot believe this is real life. SOMEBODY MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!
