This isn’t the first time we’ve spoken about the MLB recently, and it doesn’t look like it will be the last either…
Having recently placed an emphasis on bringing new eyes to the sport, the world’s most famous Baseball league has been using technology to broaden horizons and appeal to newer audiences.
I mean with Baseball being one of only a few sports being played at the elite level this summer, it would only make sense for them to exploit the larger platform given to them.
The best place to do that? The MLB’s annual all-star celebrity game!
Bringing in celebrities from all across the world, the annual Softball game brings in a whole host of new eyeballs and is a celebration of the sport on a global scale.
With athlete’s such as Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, WWE’s The Miz, and The Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell, all gearing up to play the event is a HUGE spectacle; and as a result, needs some very special coverage…
In preparation for the game, the MLB have announced a broadcasting experience unseen ever in the sport…

Teaming up with UK tech firm, Improbable, the virtual ballpark will feature live streams, exclusive content, and mini games where participants can compete for rewards.
Offering personalisation options, the league will be able to cultivate a global community and continue to build on their global fan-base.
Already promising that the virtual space will be used for multiple events this year, this is definitely one to keep an eye on!

Tennis, here we go again!
We are well underway at this year’s Wimbledon. Showcasing the highest level of Tennis out there, the tournament gives players a chance to secure their names into the history books and be remembered as greats…
Being a sport in which tradition, class, and integrity are all held in the highest regard, the honour of being inducted into the international hall of fame – as you can imagine – is enormous.
Being located in the USA, for many fans, the international museum – despite being so integral to the sport – isn’t possible to go to.
Well, when pairing the sports growing fan-base with recent technological innovations, it looks like things may be changing…
Opening the hall of fame as a digital experience this week, fans will now be able to immerse themselves into the history of the sport from their very own homes!
Combining real life elements with technology available in the Metaverse, fans will be able to view holographic statues and even participate in quizzes to earn points which can later be used to claim rewards in the museum’s virtual shop.

The VR Open…
Yep, that is exactly what it sounds like.
Despite being the oldest Golf Major out there, The Open is looking to revolutionise the way fans interact with the sport.
Launching the very first VR Open on July 15th, as a result of a partnership struck between The R&A and Golf5, fans will be able to compete against one another in the Metaverse.
Here’s how it’s going to work:
The experience will run in a similar fashion to the real life Open, generating excitement and bringing new fans into the sport.
Participants will compete for prizes which include trophies, real world tickets to the 152nd edition of The Open, and vanity cards.
The tournament will include multiple qualifying events, before the top 20 players compete in the VR Open Finals.
Being the first announcement of its kind, the unique event is a testament to the sport's recent development.
Looking at VR as a game changing resource, Golfers and fans alike should expect its use to become far more frequent…

It’s International Fight Week, everyone!
Seeing the return of number one pound-for-pound fighter, Alexander Volkanovski, fans should be in for a treat as he defends his belt against interim champion, Yair Rodriguez.
If you don’t know about his opponent, all we can say is expect the unexpected. Seriously. I mean from crazy kicks, to outlandish submissions, it seems as though this guy has it all…

Holding his own custom belt, despite not being the undisputed champion, Rodriguez has become the first fighter to ever do so.

In fact, the belt was so good that Volkanovski wants one for himself as well!
