AI Trading Cards

Sports trading cards - everyone knows them, and everyone loves them. They truly are the stuff of legends.

Despite that, even they can't escape what seems to be the fate of many… AI.

So what’s going on?

Recently, it’s been harder than ever to truly estimate the value of a card. In fact, just last year internet sensation Logan Paul bought – what was branded as a one of a kind – Pokemon trading card for $3.5 million. The twist being, it was a fake 😂😂😂.

Around the same time, CollX launched a free IOS and Android app related to the exact same thing. This is how it works:

• With the original build catering exclusively to Sport cards, it has since expanded into other entertainment branches

• Using AI, the app scans any given trading card and provides an immediate evaluation of what it may be worth

• The app currently has over 600,000 users, and has scanned over 100 million cards

The reason we’re talking about it? This week the company has managed to raise over $5.5 million! In a seeding round led by Brand Foundry Ventures, CollX has received investment by major players in the Sport scene such as David Adelman and Nat Turner.

Now This is Cool...

In a blockbuster move, Tottenham Hotspur have announced a deal with the F1. Trust us, it’s pretty cool.

For some context, in 2019, the London based football club opened a brand new, state of the art stadium. Used for everything from concerts to boxing fights, it is largely considered one of the best stadiums in the world. And it’s about to get way better.

So here’s what we know about the deal:

• A new indoor karting track will be created below the south stand of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

• The deal is set for 15 years

• The two will work together to achieve their sustainability goals

• A main goal is to foster greater diversity within the industry by establishing apprenticeships and career pathways for young people.

Yep, you read that correctly. There will be an electric karting facility in Spurs’ stadium. With that, the two also announced plans to develop a new driver academy programme. So, who knows - maybe the next Lewis Hamilton will learn their trade in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Maybe they can add that to the trophy cabinet 😉

We Need to Talk About: Graham Potter

Cutthroat, impatient, relentless, harsh. These are all words we’ve heard in describing Chelsea’s owners of the years. But it feels like something is beginning to change…

Speaking of Spurs, they just beat Chelsea in a game which many thought could be manager Graham Potter’s last. Apparently not.

With the board looking to Arsenal’s trust in Mikel Arteta as inspiration, it’s being said that the former Brighton boss is set to be given more chances! It has gotten bad though. Really bad.

In fact, according to stats, he may be Chelsea’s worst manager ever 😬😬😬

• Potter currently holds the worst win percentage of any Chelsea manager ever

• He has only won 5 out of 18 games

• With a points per game of 1.29, the club are set for their lowest amount of points ever

• Thomas Tuchel has achieved 35% of the club's points this season. He was sacked on September 6th…
