Most valuable public market sports teams

Let's get into it!

Pine Sports - Sports’ ChatGPT?

ChatGPT, we’re sure you’ve heard of it. To be honest, at this point, who hasn’t!?

And look, it’s good, but what if it could help you with the truly important things:

  • Information for your fantasy draft

  • Stats and trends to inform (responsible) betting decisions

  • Help with up to date exclusively Sport related articles and stories

All this and more with Pine Sports. With its release announced this week, how do they do it.

You guessed it, AI. Priding themselves on their no-code Artificial Intelligence, the system makes predictions with maths and game analysis.

“The easiest way to describe this is imagine having a friend who has a perfect memory. That's artificial intelligence. You get to tell it what's important about sports, and then the AI does the rest of the work. The unfair advantage for us is having a friend who literally has a perfect memory and never forgets anything.”

Mika Yam, Co-founder of Pine Sports

I swear we didn’t use it to write this 😅

A New Age of Boxing?

Overtime has signed a deal with broadcasting giant DAZN for the exclusive rights to show the digital media company’s new venture into Boxing.

Announcing the launch of OTX, Overtime are planning to launch a series of four weekend fight cards.

This is what we know so far:

  • C4, Sports nutrition drink, have been announced as a sponsor

  • The organisation will showcase young, promising fighters

  • Fights will be both male and female

  • Will be held at the OTE Arena

“These next waves of fighters have remarkable stories of grit and perseverance. We feel privileged that we can help empower them as they work to reach their dreams and share their stories with Overtime’s millions of fans.”

Brandon Rhodes, OTX general manager.

So why can this be so important?

Claiming to have an audience of 65 million GenZ fans, Overtime can exploit the rush of young fans to the Sport caused by influencer boxing.

In creating such a brand of Boxing, the company can appeal to both traditional and new fans of the Sport.

With the landscape of modern day boxing just feeling a bit bland, hopefully this can spark something new and interesting for fans.

Referee's New Technology

In a study conducted by Radio 5 Live, it was found that over 98% of referees have experienced verbal abuse from either fans, players or managers.

And with that, we don’t know what you guys think, but it feels like there have been more FA fines than usual recently…

With clubs such as Arsenal, Man City, and Liverpool all being fined within the last week alone (for offences seen below), it feels like something has to be done.

Well, it looks like the wheels are in motion.

How, you ask? Bodycam’s.

In teaming with Reveal Media, the FA are set to trial referees wearing cameras to better assess on-pitch offences. This is what we know so far:

  • The trial will exist in Grassroots Football

  • It will last for 2 seasons

  • It will cover around 100 referees

Hopefully this makes the game better for everyone (and deters our favourite players from getting sent off 😅)

SHHHHHH!

I think we can all agree that Sport truly is NOTHING without the fans. The passion, the energy, the laughs. It’s why we love it.

But at the same time, we’ve all been there.

Enduring the pain of watching an important game with a coworker or friend who has absolutely no clue what on earth they are talking about.

Well, it looks like Sky Germany have come up with an absolutely hilarious fix.

What makes it even more funny is that any time a fan group makes a noise, a referee penalises the group and awards a penalty point 😂

We think we may have found a good use for the referee’s body cameras…
